Bahamas hotels are some of the nicest you'll find anywhere! And I'm sure that you've come here to find information on some really great ones you can stay at while vacationing here in the Bahamas. First though, let's make sure and distinguish between a hotel and resort.

A hotel is basically just lodging with few or no amenities while a resort is more of a full package deal. Resorts will normally have lodging, food, entertainment and more. It's not uncommon to find casinos, spas, shops and even comedy shows happening on resort grounds. Due to these added attractions, resorts will generally cost more while hotels will be more cost effective. So in a nutshell, a resort is a destination where you can spend your entire vacation and be satisfied - at a hotel, not so much.

Bahamas hotels though, for the most part, are very nice places to stay so don’t believe that just because it’s not a resort that you will be deprived of a top-level experience. It’s not uncommon to find that some Bahamas hotels are sitting on beachfront property allowing you constant beach access. It’s also not uncommon for them to offer shuttles to outside attractions, activities and even resorts for their guests to partake in some resort action. You can also find very excellent restaurants within some hotels. So what Bahamas hotels do offer, they offer it very well. It’s just that resorts are designed to offer more opportunities.

You’ll find that certain Bahamas hotels are more suited for locals than tourists so try to stick around the touristy areas and you’ll find more tourist-suitable hotels. And when I say tourist-suitable, I mean they offer services that appeal more to tourists such as shuttles to downtown and other attractions, watersports, the ability to book tours etc. Some local hotels don’t offer any of that because they don't get much tourists (especially those not located in touristy areas) and locals rarely come looking for such things. They are usually just seeking lodging. On the pages bellow, I’ll list some of my top choices for Bahamas hotels that I feel are suited for vacationers. But you may happen to do your own research and come across a few so I just wanted to point that out.
