Bahamas Cruise

A Bahamas cruise can be a great, cost effective way to experience The Bahamas and we list just about all there are to offer right here. Before we get to the nitty gritty though, let me run through some basics for those who may not be up to speed. If you’re unfamiliar with how cruises work, basically once you purchase your cruise, all you need to survive and have a great vacation will be covered (extras can be purchased though). They are much like all-inclusive resorts on the water but differ greatly in what is covered by the fee structure (yes, not everything is free).

Just keep in mind that all cruises and all cruise lines are not the same. They differ in what they offer. A Bahamas cruise will be no different. Depending on the package and cruise line, what’s offered can differ vastly. Way too many people get smacked in the face with surprises on their cruises.

Also keep in mind that while the most things are free or included, some premium or specialty things are not. Take food, for example. First let me say that the food on cruise ships will always be above standard, no matter which part of the ship you go. For the most part, food that is offered in the main dining areas is included in the price. However, certain things on the menu like choice cuts of steak or specialty foods may need to be paid for to enjoy. Also, food in certain specialty restaurants might also incur a charge. As stated earlier though, the food being served within the main dining areas will be top notch anyway so you'll still be eating like royalty even if you don't pay a dime. The deal with drinks is very similar. Drinks on the menu in the main dining areas are generally free excluding sometimes, hard liquor and some mixed and/or specialty drinks. Some specialty restaurants may require payment for all food and drinks.

If you’ve made it this far, that probably means that you’re invested into the idea that a cruise lines up with your vision for your vacation. Good.

Understand though, that there is no Bahamas cruise operated by the major cruise lines that will take you cruising through all the islands of The Bahamas. Instead, with a commercial Bahamas cruise, you’ll visit one of more Bahamian ports like Nassau, Freeport or Princess Cays (Eleuthera). You can also reach the Bahamas via cruise by choosing a Caribbean cruise that includes the Bahamas as a destination where selective ports from the Bahamas will be included along with other nearby destinations. Some commonly included ports-of-call include Key West, Antigua and Puerto Rico.

All cruises differ though so be sure to ask questions about and research any cruise you're interested in.
